Annya Rowan of house Rowan in Cairhein always stood out from the rest of her brothers and sisters. She was short, for one, a vice that the oldest daughter of Herm and Merri Rowan found an irritation at best. She also inherrited her Grandmothers' green eyes and reddish brown hair. Where most of her cousins and firends, as well as her sisters and brothers, had the deep blue eyes and deep brown, almost black hair. Annya was fourteen years old when she learned that she had the ability to channel. She was able to hide it for a year and a half before her mother learned. She was sent to the Tower to learn.
Annya was a good student, a quick learner, and took to things that had to do with Spirit, Air and fire almost naturally. She was there for four years before the awful news came to her.
A letter was handed to her one day after her morning lesson. She was happy to see that it was a letter from home. What she didn't count on was the way that this letter would change her life. She read about how her father had been murdered and her mother carried off to be a servant of the king. Her brother, Trewil, was taken as well to the silver pits, and her sisters Mala, and Keri and her youngest brother Howell were left hiding in the abandonded farm that had once been their play house.
Annya didn't stop to think. Mala was seven years younger than her, and the others younger still. Trewil was three years younger than her, if he had still been with them, she might have not done this. She packed a bag and slipped quietly out of the Tower. She caught a ship headed down river, and promised herself that oneday she would return, that she would be Aes Sedai.
She found her siblings and took care of them as best she could. She used what knowledge of channeling she had to keep them warm and to keep them fed. She forced crops to grow even in the worst of circumstances. She set up boundaries that no one could cross without her knowing, and made sure that if anyone came they were well hidden.
Six years passed and her sister finally got married to a wonderful man, a farmer, and he took her sister and her brother with him and his new wife towards Andor where he said farming was better. She traveled with them until she finally told them that she was returning to Tar Valon and her training.
So here she stands, starting up at her former home wondering if she will be welcomed back. She has a frown on her face, and fist clenched tight. She will be Aes Sedai, she promised herself that.
Annya is a bit of a stubborn spitfire, and is a bit high strung at times. Not flighty, but just sometimes overpowering, personality wise.
