Flehrad at work before leaving home
Flehrad de'Morgan sat on his simple and humble bunk, the very night of his birth twenty-three years later. From his early beginnings he had always thought that to his dying days he would become a simple farmer, following family traditions. Not too long into his short life, at the age of nineteen he changed his mind, the life on a farm was not his calling. Saying farewell to family and local friends Fleh traveled across the lands listening to the lore and musings of men until his interest was found.
Hearing plenty in his youth about the legendary Aes Sedai and their Warders, the Gaidin, Fleh was not alone in dreaming of becoming one later in life. Belief in his fitness and mental discipline Fleh traveled to Tar Valon, the ancient home of the Aes Sedai and Gaidin. having found his way to the Tower's training ground late at night Fleh awaited the dawn for a new beginning.
The next day he befriended a young man, by the name of Dash Silverbane, a former Andoran heir. From that day on Fleh became a Gaidin in Training, the lowest and simplest level of an Gaidin. Throughout the four years training he met many others who strived to make the full rank of Gaidin. Along the way many left in despair, the training unforgiving and relentless. Plenty of times his dreams seemed so different to the life he was leading, nevertheless he continued knowing that the rewards would easily cover the hardship.
Glancing at the half-length mirror provided to each dorm of the GiT (Personal grooming and presentation was a essential part of training) Fleh mused over his physical changes. He stood at a average height, about five foot, ten inches. His bodily weight of almost eleven stone allowed him a lean figure for agility and fitness required by the tough and rigorous regime of training from Sh'Oolheh, his trainer. His hair used to be neck length but with more training the length was reduced for convenience sake, now only nape length.
Underneath the rough cotton tunic, Fleh's skin was richly tanned by the hours spent in the sun learning and tending the relatively small farm plot. The muscles on his body were not clearly visible but finely defined from constant use. A well developed framework of muscle sat easily on his simple stance. Sinking back onto his bed Fleh lightly traced the calluses on his hands and feet, signs of hard work and dedication.
Picking up his pair of black leather gloves he gently stroked the smooth grain of the material on the tooled top and the intricate griping surface underneath. Looking up to the ceiling Fleh wondered when the day would come where he would no longer be burdened with his seemingly cursed body. Sure, the allergy to metal would allow him endurance past anything else possible but its drawbacks were well past possible value.
The past four years had taught him much. Hand to hand fighting, simple sword usage, mental and physical discipline, etiquette and lessons of life. On the day of his naming Fleh pondered what the future would bring to him tomorrow. Carefully clearing his sleeping zone and preparing his belongings for the next day Fleh left the room, his night guard duties now routine. Clearing his mind of the past Flehrad de'Morgan awaited the dawning of another day.
