Aneid Cower

Aneid Cower was born in the small farm village of Corrain, near the River Dhagon in Arad Doman. As a youth he was not very sociable, his lack of confidence that stemmed from his belief that he wasn't a very good looking boy, only made him more reclusive. Every year he traveled with his father Mortel to Bandar Eban or Toman Head to trade their livestock which consisted of solely of chickens, for items that came from all over the world. Aneid was sure to pick up books of all types while in the large cities. His insatiable thirst for knowledge lead to the largest library most people in his village or most neighboring villages had ever seen.

The year of his fourteenth name day his father decided to travel to Tanchico feeling they would get a much better deal for their goods there. When Aneid and his father made it to Tanchico they were robbed by a group of bandits, and all of their trade goods were taken and the two were roughed up a bit. Motel hired a tough thief catcher by the name of Havril to regain their livestock. Two days later Havril had recovered a substantial portion of the lost goods to Aneid and his father. The experience made Aneid even more reclusive and very suspicious of strangers a trait that still lingers with him today. The trade went well in Tanchico and Aneid was able to increase his already large library of books. He had recovered parchments that told of the Prophecies of the Dragon, a topic that would prove to be a major influence in his life.

The large amount of work that was needed to keep the small farm going wore on Aneid. He would read his books and dream of adventures, his two younger sisters were very popular in the village with the other young adults. He wished he could talk to the others with the ease his sister's Ariene, and Verrill did but his natural shyness and low self esteem made him the whisper of the village. He looked forward to the yearly travels to the large cities and was struck a detrimental emotional blow when the trips were stopped. On his sixteenth name day his father began to trade with a merchant that made his way to the village. The days of traveling in the big cities were gone, that settled it for him, he knew that he was going to leave the farm soon. The way he would leave was a shock to him and his entire village.

At seventeen his first and strongest Talent began to emerge, the ability to sense ore and minerals through the One Power. While tilling the field he would know where the larger boulders were, and if they had any value to them. It was not a very useful Talent but it was his and it made him special in the village. He found that his Talent was shunned by some in his village but embraced by others. A wagon circled by soldiers pulled up to the village just west of his farm, the banner told all who saw it that the men driving it were Dragon Sworn. Aneid went to listen to what the soldiers of the Dragon had to say. Aneid had heard the rumors of this Rand al'Thor and he had read enough of the Prophecies of the Dragon to know that Rand was the true Dragon. His signature on the roster was the pivotal point in what had so far been a very boring life. Business was about to pick up. He walked to the wagons the next morning, his mother wept with his sisters and he and his father had exchanged very heated words, but the young Cower had made up his mind. The two black clad men that were the soldiers who had recruited him must have been very high ranking by the swords that shined on their collars. However the looks that they were getting from the recruiting soldiers of the Dragon were less than cordial. The two men sat on the ground in front of a strange looking fire. The fire had but one very haunting flame. Across from the Black clad men were two recruits that he remembered from yesterdays assembly. The four men stared at the flame, moments later they were told to rejoin the other recruits that were standing in a file where older soldiers of the Dragon stood keeping very sharp eyes on them. Aneid was puzzled on why the two men wore black, and if they were part of the Dragon's Army, why did the other soldiers glare at them as their backs were turned? When it came to his turn he was told it was a test that all recruits for the Dragon's Army had to take. Staring at a flame was a test? He shrugged it off, who was he to question recruiting tactics of the Dragon? The flame looked odd as it burned. It was blue in the center and glowed not quite as bright as it should have. Aneid sat and stared intently at the flame, he started to enjoy the color of the flame, the way it rose and fell. He was well into the center of the flame watching the colors swirl together, when he was shook on the arm by the young man wearing black. "You will do Soldier," the man said as Aneid stood and noticed that the two black clad men were sharing a grin. He was secured away from the other recruits, then whisked away to the Black Tower to start his training as an Asha'man.

Aneid has brown hair and brown eyes. His original belief that he is not a handsome man was true. Although he will never repulse the women he can be easily over looked. His nose seems to be too small for his face and his bushy eyebrows furrow together to give the false impression of anger. He is 5'11" and 190 lbs. and heavily muscled from all of the farm work he did in his youth. At the age of 21 he is much wiser than his age tells, and very smart from all of the reading he has done. The adventure that he just finished with Daishar Dahn al'Daer, has made him a very seasoned Asha'man. He is shocked rarely and never shows his emotions outwardly. He is known in the Black Tower to have a quiet but strong presence, when he speaks, most in the Tower listen.
